TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

I redefine how dancers engage with health and wellness by creating learning environments that are educational, experiential, and immediately applicable at the individual level, while also fostering communal approaches that strengthen the culture of dance health.

For the individual, my focus is on helping dancers build awareness of their own physical capacity, equipping them with the clarity, curiosity, and long-term skills needed to support strength, performance, and healing when required. My approach is grounded in principles of physical literacy, strength and conditioning, and framework-based education designed for lasting adherence and real-world application.

For the community, I emphasize the importance of a dancer-centered health ecosystem, working alongside educators, parents, and institutions to create collaborative care that sustains longevity in the performing arts. Through faculty lectures, guest speaking, and movement workshops, I am committed to giving dancers and educators tools that both elevate individual artistry and shape a culture where safety, resilience, and sustainability are the standard.

Currently, I am on faculty at Chapman University (dance and physical therapy program), and provide guest lectures and movement workshops from the local studio level to the convention circuit, local and abroad.

In 2023, DANCEPREHAB was awarded the Dance Education Organization Award by the International Association of Dance Medicine & Science for our educational efforts in our community and abroad.
