您好 and hello! I am Rob.
I am a physical therapist and dance health educator.
My clinical and educational work is at the intersection of artistic performance, human movement science, and healing that is rooted in trust, context, and collaboration.
Originally from Taipei, Taiwan, I received my Doctorate in Physical Therapy, undergraduate degree in Communication Theory, and a minor in Dance Performance from Chapman University in California, USA.

As aperforming arts physical therapist, I support movement artists across the lifespan, from youth and pre-professional students to collegiate and professional dancers working in concert, commercial, and theme park settings. My clinical approach is grounded in partnership, an understanding of the unique demands of the dance learning experience and profession, and an acknowledgement of the cultural and social forces that shape and inform the personal and communal dance health experience.

In my educational work, I am passionate about redefining how dancers incorporate, and engage with, their health and wellness in the context of their training. I design contextual, movement-centered learning experiences rooted in physical literacy principles, strength and conditioning science, and introduce frameworks for long term learning and application. My teaching reflects the belief that movement is an experience, and experiences inform the mover.
I designed and implemented a course on longevity as part of Chapman University's dance curriculum, and continue to bridge collaborative opportunities between the physical therapy and dance departments.I have presented at national and international dance medicine and education conferences such as PAMA, IADMS, and DANCE/USA, and have guest lectured at collegiate dance programs across the United States and abroad, including The Juilliard School, NYU Tisch, and Trinity Laban (UK). I collaborate with a wide range of dance organizations—from pre-professional ballet institutions to competitive studios—supporting both dancers and educators.

I design and facilitate integrated programs that bring education, application, and accountability together to set the stage for a dancer-centered health ecosystem to take root.
In a variety of settings, I am committed to building structures that connect physical therapy principles, strength and conditioning concepts, and dance training realities in a way that is practical, developmentally appropriate, and culturally aligned with the needs of the community
In my personal academic work and alongside DANCE|PREHAB, I have had the opportunity to design, train, pilot, and execute dance health initiatives with integration and dance health longevity for pre-professionals in mind.

Through rehabilitative care and guided education, I strive to instill a curiosity in students and patients to help them understand their physical capacity, take ownership of their recovery, and sustain their training with intention.
What continues to ground me? I am husband to Krystal, father to Rhys, and dog dad to Hachi :) I occasionally dance, I photograph, I backpack/rock climb/hike/travel, I make bookshelves out of pipes, and I am constantly attempting to seriously think about cutting down on my sugar intake.
Thank you for stopping by!
